With Halloween and its spooky chills coming up and the dark winter months in our immediate future it is time to let a new Epsilon update brighten your days!

This month we will show off a new costume, a new Origin, as well as some previews of our maps!

As we are close to Halloween we will start this update off with the new costume, drawn by our artist Akristhekat and spriter Egg! The mechanics for these costumes were announced last year, so make sure to read up on them for a refresher! The first costume we will show of is one for the Illusion Pokemon, Zorua and Zoroark! With its classic burglar outfit, Zoroark and Zorua will be sure to steal your hearts!

While wearing this costume the Zorua line will get access to Shadow Sneak, a move which it otherwise isn’t able to learn!

Next up, we’re happy to announce a new Origin: Origin Minior! As fans of Pokemon might know, Minior has more than one forme, which means you’ll get to enjoy two different formes for Origin Minior as well. Origin Minior will also get the Shields Down ability, but with new typings and new stats! The shielded forme of Origin Minior is a Ghost/Rock Pokemon, but when its shield breaks, it will lose its Rock typing.

As all our Origins do, Origin Minior has some extensive lore written for it:

Minior are formed from mutated nanoparticles in space. Its core is the ghostly essence and to protect itself it surrounds itself with debris and space rocks. It has a low gravitational pull which it uses to draw these in. Studies and carbon dating show that Minior must have arrived on our planet along with the meteor that was also responsible for wiping out other Origin Pokémon. Their rocky coating burned up upon entering the atmosphere, and it seems they began using discarded rocks and bones from the crash landing to reform their protective shield.

They shy from human interaction, and are even afraid to approach other living Pokémon. Research tells us this may be connected to the gravitational pull of their ectoplasm. Not only does it draw in rock and debris to form a protective shield, but we believe if a living being gets too close, their life force may get sucked in, too. Pokémon with powerful psychic capabilities are the only ones who manage to live alongside Minior, as they can protect themselves from this. Perhaps this is a contributing factor to their origins in space, where life is scarce.

Approaching Minior has not been easy, but we’ve managed to capture and study many of them. It seems their rocky exterior still retains DNA from the meteor’s crash, which might prove to be the solution to understanding what life walked our planet back then. Over many years of study, we have noticed Minior slowly piecing their rocky exterior closer and closer together. Are we to blame, or is this just a part of the natural evolutionary process? As both the ectoplasmic energy and gravitational pull got sealed up completely inside the rocky shell, Minior now channel all that internal energy to fly great heights and distances. In times of great stress and battle the ghostly spirit manifests itself in some way to attack - though we feel, unfortunately, this strength is only a shell of its former self.

We’re also very excited to show some maps that our multi-talented lead developer SleepLate has created! Here’s route 4, which you’ll get to explore towards the beginning of your journey.
